Child's Play, v2.0

Penny Arcade's Child's Play

For those of you who don't know/remember, Child's Play was a charity event the webcomic Penny Arcade created to get gamers to donate toys and games to the Seattle Childrens Hospital. Since 190,000 children go through that hospital each year, this is an idea that benefits a lot of kids.

Last year, over $250,000 in toys, games, and cash were sent, including a few billion legos, several consoles (Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox), and more GBA's than I've ever seen (yes, all of those boxes are supposedly GBA's...).

They're doing it again, but this time they're doing this for five different hospitals across the nation:

The Seattle Children's Hospital (again)
Children's Hospital & Health Center, San Diego
Children's Hospital Medical Center of Northern California, Oakland
Children's National Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
Texas Children's Hospital

I realize that my readership can be counted on the hand of a blind butcher, but if the word spreads...

Oh, and I do plan on donating something this year.

Oh, and before you think of last years event as an amazing but one time burst of generosity, remember that Penny Arcade has a readership of 3.5 million people.

So, spread the word, people! Those who work at a computer company filled with rather young people who remember being gamers *coughmomcough*, tell them! Those who write a blog with infinitely better prestige than my own, please link to this! *coughlizcough*

Lets put last years total to shame!
