Random thing I realized today:

I'm not an Ox! I'm a Rat!

Now, backing up a few thoughts...

I've always thought that I was born in the year of the Ox according to the chinese Zodiac. Back in elementary school, around the time of the lunar (aka chinese) new year, we'd get taught about it and also we'd learn, based on what year we were born, what animal of the zodiac we are. And 1985 was the year of the Ox, the year I was born.

But wait!

The year of the Ox began on February 20th, 1985! Six days after I was born!

So, by six days, I was actually born a rat!

And now I'll collapse cause I just took three finals in 20.5 hours...

Wow...

So, I'm watching this coverage of yesterday's Iran-Mexico World Cup match. And something beautiful is shown.

Now, the Mexican goalie's father recently died. As in a few weeks ago. It's gotten a fair amount of coverage by the commentators.

And how do the Iranian players greet him?

At the pre-game handshake, the Iranian goalie gives him a bouquet a flowers.

That's just classy. No sarcasm here, just lovely.

I shouldn't love this, but...

Superman, apparantly, isn't gay.

This line is just so awesome: "Superman "is probably the most heterosexual character in any movie I've ever made," said Bryan Singer, director of "Superman Returns.""

Which, I'm sad to say, immediately brings up this question:

So, is Wolverine a little bicurious? Spiderman? Maybe Mary Jane?

Hey, he said that Superman is more straight than them...

Why Sports sometimes rocks...

San Jose Mayor's Office: Official Headquarters of the Edmonton Oilers

Okay, cliff-notes version: The mayors of San Jose and Edmonton, whose teams played each other in the NHL playoffs, made a friendly bet with each other that the Mayor of losing city would turn their office into the Official Fan Club for the winning team. The mayor would wear the jersey for the opening, redecorate their office and fly the flag of the winning team for the duration of the Stanely Cup Playoffs.

So, yes, if you drive by the San Jose Mayor's office right now you will see a Edmonton Oiler's flag flying proudly.

Same goes for Anaheim, apparantly.

In some senses, the game isn't what matters. It's the pride the cities take in the teams and the, for the most part, friendly rivalries that can spring up. Even with that nastiness about the canadian anthem, you've got a feeling that this isn't just gonna be a thing both sides just forget about.

Besides, it's fun!

Oh, and if you look at the left sidebar on the Edmonton Mayor's Website, you'll see an unusual option...
